Some Latin American Sunshine comes to Pulborough

On a rather miserable September evening, the Friends brought some Latin American sunshine to Pulborough’s Village Hall.

Salsa is a dance which combines a number of elements from Latin dance. Unlike Ballroom, which requires precision and elegance, Latin is all about rhythm, flamboyance and exuberance. We had two friendly and patient dance teachers, Marion and John Fenton, to show us some of the basic steps of this dance.

A delicious veggie chilli fuelled us up for a second session of Salsa tuition. To finish off the evening, there was a raffle for a prize hamper, generously stocked by Batcheller Monkhouse Estate Agents, followed by some free-form dancing which gave us a chance to practice what we had just learnt.

This enjoyable evening raised almost £700 for the Friends.
